Reed Neighborhood February Meeting

Leah Fisher, from SE Uplift, returned to this month’s meeting to help lay out an organizational plan for Reed Neighborhood events for 2018. It includes Movies in the Park, our annual picnic, and the annual clean-up event.

Ron captures the plan which focuses on planning events, as well as creating a communications strategy to keep more neighbors in the loop.

Reed January Meeting

We had a great Reed Neighborhood meeting in January, and appreciate all of the guests who attended.

Patty Smith and Jennifer Hooford, from Tucker-Maxon, shared updates on exciting improvements to the school property. Stay tuned to learn about what will be happening.

Leah Fisher from SE Uplift gave guidance to the new board, as we continue to learn how to create a useful and fun neighborhood association. Thanks, Leah for all of your help!

Amal Swan and her son attended to let the neighborhood know about her Catering business, called Amoula’s Morrocan Cuisine. Her son, who attends Grout shared some insightful safety concerns about how difficult it can be to cross Holgate Blvd to get to school.

Thank you to everyone, for a great meeting!

We will be having our annual elections for the RNA board, and all positions are open. You, yes you, are the key to the future of the Reed Neighborhood Board! October General Meeting Tuesday, October 11

Ok neighbors, this is the big semi-annual meeting where we invite speakers. It’s in Room 130 of the Reed College Performing Arts Building. The parking lot entrance is across the street from the Rhododendron Garden on 28th. Everyone is invited.

We’ve got some really interesting presentations about what’s going on in our neighborhood. Find out about the homeless shelter opening across from Oaks Bottom, what you need to consider when building an ADU on your property, and where did those speed bumps come from on 28th Ave?

Here is a detailed agenda:
6:30 – Introductions
6:35 – Homeless Shelter Presentation
7:20 – ADU Presentation
7:50 – 20’s Bikeway Update
8:10 – Logo Contest Voting
8:20 – Neighbor Q&A, What’s important to you regarding our neighborhood?

Upcoming meetings

RNA would like to announce the next few upcoming meetings!

On September 13th, we will be having our monthly board meeting at 6:30pm, which is held at Reed College’s Performing Arts Building.

On October 11th, we will be having our general meeting and hope to see all of our neighbors there! It will also be held at Reed College’s Performing Arts Building at 6:30pm.

We are looking for contributors to create our new Reed Neighborhood Association logo which will be voted on at this meeting. If this sounds like something you’d like to create, we’d love to have to bring your idea to the general meeting in October for the neighborhood to vote on.

August Board Meeting (Changed date)

We are changing the date of the next board meeting to MONDAY, August 8, 2016.  As usual, the meeting will be held at the Reed College Performing Arts Building at 6:30pm.  The agenda will focus on planning the neighborhood cleanup and October general RNA meeting.

All neighbors welcome!
