Neighborhood coalition groups seek to strengthen and speed up City and County proposed resolution on Clean Air Construction Standards. City and county are seeking input from the public, now.
The Oregon Department of Transportation are beginning work on a project that will increase pedestrian safety, change signalization, and result in some temporary night time lane closures along SE Powell Blvd from SE 21st to SE 34th Aves during construction.
This project will be adding flashing beacons at crosswalks and left-turn signals in several locations and make it easier for large trucks to turn onto and from Powell Blvd.
During construction in late March, lane closures and traffic delays at night are expected.
Expected Night Time Lane Closure Hours:
- Weekdays from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- From 8 p.m. Friday until 9 a.m. Saturday.
- From 7 p.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. Sunday.
- From 7 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday.

The City of Portland have begun a re-paving project, including some sewer work and some additions of ADA sidewalk ramps at corners, to SE 28th Ave between Holgate and Steele streets. After the re-surfacing has completed, this project will also result in improved bicycle lanes along this road and some removal of on-street parking as part of the “20’s bikeway project”. This will bring safer and improved bicycle access to Cleveland High School and Hosford Middle School, and the Division/Clinton areas. A new permit has been granted for construction of a 79′ cell phone tower. The owner wishes to be excluded from city zoning requirements for landscaping and setback rules associated with this new project. The city is seeking comments to be filed prior to Jan 12th.
